Sharing Christ's Teachings, Testifying to his Goodness

Get up and Running and live your Ministry

get started with your ministry

Its a common theme in “the world” that people should live life to the fullest, enjoy every opportunity there is to be had.

For most people this isnt realistic, especially if you live in a poor country, or even struggle to survive each day in a rich counrty.

As Christians we may frown on the sentiment when there is so much to do for God.

I recently read an article about an incident in China where the ground beneath a bus opened up as a sinkhole just as passengers were boarding or alighting from the bus at a bus stop. Unfortunately, as others rushed to help or pull people out of the hole, there was an explosiiion and many people died, including some of the rescuers.

No one knows the hour when they will die. People die all the time, some never wake up from simple sleep. Some have accidents, some are attacked, some get sick.

The point of all this is to encourage all to not continue to delay in our ministry, using our gifts, or doing anything we need to do “until we are ready”.

Why do we delay?

Sometimes, we want to be perfect before we start doing what God’s called us to do. Sometimes we think we’re not prepared enough. Sometimes its fear of failure, sometimes it could be that we don’t believe we’re good enough to do what he’s called us to do. We’re still trying to become “fit for purpose”. That’s a big mistake. The word says “before you were in your mothers womb I knew you”.

God knows, and has always known you better than you know yoursef. He called you into his kingdom, and has called you to serve him despite not only every sin you had ever commited, but also despite any sin you are ever going to commit. You can’t hide from God, so serve your purpose.

You see the mistake we make is thinking, I dont want to be a hypocrite, I’m not doing things right, how can I minister. But it could well be that its in the midst of carrying out your purpose that you’ll be enabled to become. After, all God expects us to grow and improve. You can’t improve by NOT doing. So start, and do whatever you’ve been called to do – and continue in it.
